New hotel opening in Huston

by Oliver Lind, Hotel Researcher
In a significant move that marks its continued expansion in Texas, the Austin-based hospitality company Bunkhouse has revealed plans for a new project - Hotel Daphne.
Set to grace the cityscape of Houston in early 2025, this venture will be the second chapter for the brand within the state, following the successful debut of Hotel Saint Augustine in the fall of 2024.
With most of Bunkhouse's existing properties, including five in Austin and one in San Antonio, already nestled in the Lone Star State, the decision to venture into Houston ushers in an exciting new phase for the renowned hospitality group.

The collaboration with the distinguished architects of record, blanchardA+D and Darwin Architecture, to construct a new five-story building in Houston Heights exemplifies Bunkhouse's commitment to seamlessly blending with the neighborhood's historic charm.

Hotel Daphne is designed to harmonize with the area's recycled industrial aesthetic, featuring unique elements like painted brick, stepped parapets, and steel-framed windows. True to the brand's ethos, Bunkhouse's in-house team will spearhead the hotel's intricate interior design and creative direction. Anticipated offerings include 47 stylish guestrooms and suites, an all-day restaurant, a ground-floor bar and lounge, a refreshing pool and pool bar, a tranquil courtyard, an inviting library, and a lobby retail store, all designed to offer a one-of-a-kind experience.

Hotel Daphne, a pioneering establishment in the Heights area, is poised to further elevate the neighborhood's status as a premier city destination. As it prepares to enter Houston's vibrant hospitality scene, it promises to deliver a unique experience that intertwines modern luxury with a nod to the neighborhood's rich history and industrial heritage.
